Presidential Livestock Reforms Implementation Committee, led by the Co-chairman Professor Attahiru Muhammadu Jega, OFR, visits Jigawa State On Thursday 27th February2025, The Co-chairman of the Presidential Livestock Reforms Implementation Committee, Professor Attahiru Muhammadu Jega, OFR, led members of the committee on a visit to Dutse, Jigawa State. During the visit, the committee paid a courtesy call on the Executive Governor of Jigawa State, Malam Umar A. Namadi, at the Government House.
Following the courtesy call, a stakeholders’ engagement session was held at the Manpower Development Institute, where various issues related to livestock reforms were discussed. Professor Jega extended his heartfelt appreciation to His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Jigawa State, Malam Umar Namadi for the invitation, warm reception, hospitality, and courtesies extended to him and members of his delegation. He also commended the Governor for inaugurating a 17-member Jigawa State Livestock Reforms Implementation Committee, with the Governor himself serving as the Chairman. In his remarks, the Governor appreciate President Bola Ahmed GCFR for his unwavering support for the development of livestock sector in Nigeria. The Governor also thanked the committee for the visit and support.
The committee concluded its visit with a tour of Malam Aliyu Farms in Birnin Kudu Local Government Area, where they observed livestock practices and operations on the farm. This visit is part of the ongoing efforts to promote and implement livestock reforms aimed at improving the sector nationwide.
